Cocoa Beach is one of the most accessible beaches for families staying in the Orlando area. Located on Florida’s Space Coast, it combines a long sandy beach, a laid-back atmosphere, a strong surf culture, and several activities that are easy to include in a day trip.
Visitors can stroll around the Cocoa Beach Pier, take a surf lesson, explore local shops, or simply enjoy the ocean. Cocoa Beach is also a great place to watch a rocket launch when conditions and schedules allow, thanks to its proximity to Kennedy Space Center.
The beach is well suited for families, but the Atlantic Ocean can be rougher than the beaches along the Gulf Coast. It’s therefore important to check swimming conditions and beach safety flags before entering the water.
